About Me

I became a therapist to help my clients manifest the best version of themselves. My goal is to offer therapy that will empower you to learn from your experiences, to shed ineffective or destructive patterns and to create space to initiate lasting, honest and true change for yourself and your family.

I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of San Diego and I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #52584) since 2012. My early counseling experience was spent working with homeless families and individuals as well as children in the foster care system.

My work as a therapist has shaped and nurtured my understanding, respect and awe for the human capacity for resilience, adaptation and self-awareness.

In more recent years, I have worked with clients managing stress, anxiety and depression resulting from major life stressors and changes, acute crisis and family relational problems.

I work primarily from a strength-based perspective, meaning during therapy, I align with you to unearth your gifts, your untapped skills and your insight to improve your ability to cope with the challenges life has laid before you.

I function from the perspective that we are not islands, but deeply rooted and bound by the relationships and experiences we have.

My goal as a therapist is to assist you in untangling the messiness of life to help you manifest a more authentic and happier you.

I look forward to meeting with you.

I May Be A Good Fit For You If:
  • You are hoping to modify and change patterns of thinking or behaviors that have caused you great discomfort and frustration and possibly tested your most important relationships.
  • You are experiencing a significant life transition that would be best served by some added perspective, support and strategizing.
  • You are open to exploring how your early life experiences and familial relationships may be affecting your current experiences, coping strategies and perspectives.
  • You are ready to come to therapy to do the work. Therapy truly only works when YOU are motivated to change. No matter how well we work together, you will need to be an active participant in changing your life.
  • You are looking for a therapist who is focused and active during your sessions. I am a directive (you can count on my honesty), warm, and collaborative (we will work together to get you through this tough time) therapist. I will not be the therapist that quietly listens, nods and asks the occasional question. I am here to work WITH you and FOR you to effect real change in your life. That may mean that during our work together you may at times feel out of your comfort zone, I will sometimes give you homework (usually something to think more on, act on or read), and I may challenge you to explore parts of yourself you have spent a lifetime hiding from.
My goal is for you to feel lighter, clearer and more authentically you
during and after therapy with me
