Online Therapy
You’re struggling with the stress, anxiety or depression that can arise when facing a major life transition and you need some relief now. Good news, online therapy with me can help.
Your divorce is on the horizon, you’re in the midst of grieving the loss of a loved one or baby is coming in a few short months, and you’re finding yourself feeling unprepared, untethered, and stalled.
You know you need help coping, but you haven’t been able to convince yourself to speak to a therapist online. You’re first instinct has always been that it’s a less connected, underwhelming and nerve-wracking replacement for face-to-face therapy.
With, work, family, and the business of life, not to mention the limitations caused by COVID-19, you’ve realized that seeing a therapist is person is not a possibility. Life isn’t getting any less complicated and it’s time to get to feeling better sooner than later.
I work extensively with expecting and new parents and individuals struggling with major life transitions and when we meet for online therapy, I provide the same grounded and attuned support as in the office.
Research has shown online therapy to be as effective as in person sessions under many circumstances. The freedom seeing a therapist virtually can afford you in terms of easy access and flexible timing is a wonderful added benefit.
Via online therapy, I can help you get you in touch with your resilience, and guide you through these uncharted waters. Once our work gets going you might even find yourself feeling more relaxed and “yourself” when participating in online sessions. This is often the case because the formality of the therapy office is not there and you are likely at home or in a comfortable setting.
Progress with online therapy is often more consistent as you are more likely to keep your sessions even if the weather isn’t great, you’re not feeling well or you’re just plain tired.
Additionally, you don’t have to factor in travel time and you require less time off work to meet with me. With online therapy, you can easily fit your therapy in without having to overhaul your day.

Online Therapy FAQ
Yes, it really does. A year-long research study conducted by UC, San Francisco, UC Berkeley & Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center published January 2019 by JMIR revealed online counseling has outcomes that are comparable, if not better than face-to-face counseling. I am pleased to offer a free 20 minute consultation so you can experience what it’s like before investing.
If you have access to the internet and have a smart phone, tablet or computer, you are a great candidate. There is no doubt that seeing a therapist virtually can take some getting used to, but usually doesn’t take long. I am here to make the process an easy one to adapt to.
I am currently licensed to see clients who reside in California. I can also see individuals and couples (online) living outside of the U.S.
To participate in video sessions, you will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with a camera and microphone. Using earphones or earbuds can be helpful in preventing echoing sounds during our session and can increase privacy if you are having difficulty finding the space to be alone for our sessions. You will also need to ensure your internet is working, of course.
Currently I am only offering therapy via online video sessions. I believe that non-verbal cues like facial expressions are very important in helping me relate to you and attune to your needs. Honestly, sessions feel more personal when we can see each other. I am available for between session check-ins via telephone as needed.
That will be up to you. The good news is that it will continue to be available to you once face-to-face sessions are up and running again and we can work together to find a balance that works for you and your life. You will be able to see me in person or virtually once our options open up.
